What do you enjoy about working at DYRSL?

The friends I have made over the years working here. Since starting 5 years ago, I have had the opportunity to work with countless amazing people, many of which are now some of my closest friends.

What is something exciting happening in your life right now?

I have just gotten back from a two-month trip to Europe. I have also recently graduated from university after my four-year degree, so this period marks a milestone in my life where I am looking to embark on new challenges.

Describe ‘a day in the life’ working at DYRSL in your current position.

Every day at DYRSL is different; I undertake several roles within gaming. Each shift I am presented with new challenges and experiences. Whether it is supervising the gaming floor or coordinating a team during clearance, these roles shape my day-to-day and add a level of dynamism to my week.

What is a fond/funny/stand-out memory of your time here.

There have been many stand-out memories during my time here, but the most notable would be all the late-night closes early in my employment. There was always some form of entertainment taking place in those late hours which meant that some great friendships and memories were being built.

If you could travel anywhere in the world right now, where would you go and why?

If I could travel anywhere in the world, my next destination would be Japan. Many of my friends have been fortunate enough to holiday there and their takeaways have always made me excited to spend some time there during snow season.

What is the weirdest fact you know?

The weirdest fact I know would be that some infinities are larger than others. In fact, there are three classes of infinities: counting numbers, irrational numbers, and transcendental numbers!

How would your friends describe you?

I think my friends would describe me as someone who is entertaining, even to the detriment of myself, and loves great conversation no matter the topic.

Favourite book / movie?

My favourite film would be Interstellar.

Favourite Drink?

My favourite drink would be a Carlton Dry.

Tell us something we don’t know about you…

I have an irrational fear of heights, or more specifically I am afraid of the feeling of falling.

What is your go-to meal here?

My go-to meal here is the chicken schnitzel from Bistro.

What are some of your hobbies outside of work?

Some hobbies of mine would be playing footy with the crew from work, going to the beach with my friends, and mixing music with my mates.

What are some of your personal goals this year?

My goal is to move into the industry of my degree; however, I am not allowed to talk about what that is…

As a kid, what did you want to be when you grow up?

As a kid I always wanted to be an architect.

If you were to give your younger self some advice, what would it be?

I think I would give the same advice my father gave me, and that is to take my time and enjoy the moment. You never realise how important or special something is until the moment has passed.

What do you love doing the most in your work?

I love being able to help others, whether that is training someone or simply helping them with a favour. I take pride in being someone that people can go to for help.

Who is your hero?

My hero is definitely my father.

Do you collect anything / have any strange hobbies?

It may not be strange, but I enjoy writing reviews for films or film essays.
