Dee Why RSL Chaplain.

The role of our Chaplain is to assist people, without regard to their life circumstances or beliefs, on their journey through life. A Chaplain is a support person in good and not-so-good times, and is professionally trained and has theological qualifications.

Dee Why RSL’s Chaplain, Debbie Gould grew up locally and knows the club very well. Previously, Debbie worked as an NSW Court Chaplain and has had 20 years’ experience as an assistant minister. She is a member of Chaplaincy Australia, holds a Diploma in Theology and Ministry, and Cert IV in Chaplaincy.

As a Chaplain, Debbie supports all faiths, and offers a listening presence and help to deal with powerlessness, grief and loneliness. A Chaplain provides the time to listen without prejudice and offers options of support or coping skills, pastoral care, or alternatively recommends suitable organisations if necessary.

The Chaplain is available three days a week for DYRSL members, Oceangrove Residents and staff. Stop to have a friendly chat, or book a private appointment if you have something confidential to discuss. Appointments are held in the Chaplain’s appointment room on level four of DYRSL.
