02 Aug Hearty Donations Help Those in Tough Times
It was Christmas in July for Street Mission and the Bringa Women and Children’s Refuge (also known as the Manly Warringah Women’s Resource Centre); two charities of which Dee Why RSL Supports, receiving hearty donations through the RSL’s Do Something Day donation drives.
In the lead up to the annual 25 July Do Something Day event; an initiative of the Do Something Foundation, NewsLocal and Your Local Club, members and guests of Dee Why RSL and its employees went above and beyond in their support, celebrating the tireless work of volunteers by giving back to the local community.
Tins of food and warm blankets were contributed to Street Mission, a local charity that helps the less fortunate in our area, while portions of money raised through every main meal sale on July 25 was donated to the Bringa women and children’s refuge, a local resource centre assisting women and children escaping domestic violence in our area.
Support received through the two campaigns was overwhelming and will go directly to assist others in urgent need.
