Cheers to Celebrating 5 Years Daniel.

Kokoda-trail blazer and Functions guru, if you’ve visited the RSL over the last 5 years, chances are you’ve seen Daniel’s warm and friendly face.

Always eager to help and putting the customer first in every situtation, as Daniel celebrates his 5 year anniversary with us, we thought it fitting to catch up with him over a handful of questions.

Read on to find out a little more about Daniel and his time with us.

What in particular do you enjoy about working at the RSL?

I really enjoy how diverse the job is. No two days are the same and there’s always something new and exciting happening around the RSL.

How have you seen the RSL change over the last 5 years?

Over the last 5 years, I have seen multiple changes inside and outside of the RSL – most recently of which includes  the completion of our brand new sports bar ‘Battery House’ and reception area.

Describe ‘a day in the life’ working at DYRSL in your current position.

My role as Senior Events Supervisor is a varied position and no day is the same. With that in mind, a typical shift always starts with a coffee!

From there, a day in the life of a Senior Events Supervisor can range from setting up dinners, running corporate events, planning future events, rostering, cleaning, training and everything in between.

What is a fond/funny/stand-out memory of your time here?

Believe it or not, my very first shift at the RSL was on Anzac Day and I was cooking toast with a co-worker who I later found out was my Executive Manager! Great way to break the ice.

If you could have one super-power, what would it be?

To be able to pause, stop, rewind, fast forward and replay time!

What is the weirdest fact you know?

An octopus has three hearts.

Tell us something we don’t know about you.

I’ve studied Teaching and Criminology but am enjoying where I ended up (in Hospitality).
