What do you enjoy about working at the RSL?
I really enjoy working at Dee Why RSL, it’s great getting to work with friends every day.
What is something exciting happening in your life right now?
I’m currently in my last semester at university studying a double degree of economics and business analytics.
Describe ‘a day in the life’ working at DYRSL in your current position.
As a gaming attendant, typically I would prepare for the bar to open, greet all customers, make and serve drinks, monitor alcohol consumption (which is super important), clean and restock all bar items, check the gaming machines, assist customers with any queries or concerns, work together as a team with co-workers and close the bar.
What is a fond/funny/stand-out memory of your time here.
I remember one day, I was working with a coworker, as we were cleaning the coffee station and we had a box of chocolate powder in the storeroom, this coworker had accidentally dropped the box it hit the floor perfectly and she got covered in chocolate powder along with the coffee station, a massive explosion of chocolate powder everywhere.
If you could travel anywhere in the world right now, where would you go and why?
I would definitely want to travel to Europe. I’d love to do the Croatia Sail. A week on a party boat with all my mates sounds like a good experience.
What is the weirdest fact you know?
Male giraffes will test a female’s fertility by tasting her urine.
How would your friends describe you?
BFG – Big friendly giant. One of the funniest and awkward people you will meet.
Favourite book/movie?
My favourite movie(s) would be Transformers 1-3 or White Chicks.
Favourite Drink?
Without a doubt, Vodka Pineapple
Tell us something we don’t know about you…
I’m really an open book and don’t have any secrets. Some people may not know that I play netball.
What is your go-to meal here?
There are so many great choices, if I had to pick one it would be General Tso’s Chicken from Tastes of Asia.
What are some of your hobbies outside of work?
I’m a big fan of sports. NRL and golf being some of my favourites. I also enjoy catching up with friends.
What are some of your personal goals this year?
I really want to finish university. I’m very passionate about my double degree that I have been studying. So, I’d really like to work in a related field sometime after my degree has been completed.
As a kid, what did you want to be when you grow up?
I wanted to be a pilot when I was younger. But now I don’t enjoy flying.
If you were to give your younger self some advice, what would it be?
I would have liked to finish my degree sooner or possibly chosen a simpler degree. I would also tell myself to stop caring what people think about me.
What do you love doing the most in your work?
I enjoy paying out wins and jackpots. The better the win, the more I enjoy it. I like making people happy.
Who is your hero?
Definitely my Dad.
