A hard worker through and through, Muhammed’s commitment to excellence and professionalism has garnered him the admiration of his peers and colleagues.

Read on to find out a little more about Muhammed and his time with us.

What in particular do you enjoy about working at DYRSL?

The warm and welcoming culture here at DYRSL is something I truly enjoy. The camaraderie among colleagues makes each day a pleasure to be a part of.

Describe ‘a day in the life’ working at DYRSL in your current position.

I wake up at 3:00am to get ready and get to work around 5:20am by train and bus. I meet and greet everyone as I get there and get on to do my work. I have a coffee around 7:00am, then back to work. Lunch is at 12:00pm, then back to work. I finish around 3:30pm.

What is a fond/funny/stand-out memory of your time here?

There was a lady who really wanted to use the bathroom early in the morning before we were  open. I felt bad for her and talked to reception to make an exemption and she was able to use it right away. She was very thankful after that, and I was very glad to make her happy.

What do you love doing the most in your work?

One of the things I absolutely love about my work is the variety it offers. I find joy in every aspect of my role, whether it’s engaging with people, working on challenging tasks, or contributing to the overall success of DYRSL. This diverse and fulfilling nature of my job keeps me motivated and excited to come to work every day.

What are some of your personal goals this year?

This year, one of my primary personal goals is to save up enough to surprise my wife with a car. She recently obtained her license, and gifting her a car would make her life way more convenient!

If you were to give your younger self some advice, what would it be?

To my younger self, I would say, “Prioritize your studies while still in school.” I wanted to study more and get a good degree, and then join business but I couldn’t finish my studies as life’s circumstances led me to take on responsibilities earlier than expected. So I would encourage my younger self to persevere and never give up on pursuing education and personal growth.

What is something exciting happening in your life right now?

My youngest daughter recently told me that she is pregnant, and I can’t wait for my next grandchild.

If you could travel anywhere in the world right now, where would you go and why?

Without a doubt, my dream destination would be Japan. I’m captivated by the country’s blend of ancient traditions and cutting-edge technology. Exploring the bustling cities, experiencing the rich cultural heritage, and meeting my dear friends residing there would make this trip an unforgettable adventure.

How would your friends describe you?

My friends may say that I am nice and friendly.

Tell us something we don’t know about you…

Many may not know that in my earlier years, I used to be a businessman. It was a significant chapter of my life that taught me valuable lessons about entrepreneurship, leadership, and resilience. Although my career path may have taken a different direction now, those experiences continue to shape and enrich my life in meaningful ways.

Who is your hero?

My hero has always been my father.

What are some of your hobbies outside of work?

Going to the gym, watching the news and gardening.

Favourite book/movie?

My all-time favourite movie is ‘New Delhi,’ a captivating Malayalam film that I can watch over and over again.

What is your favourite drink?

When it comes to beverages, coffee has my heart! There’s something comforting and energising about a perfectly brewed cup of coffee that makes it my go-to choice throughout the day.

What is your go-to meal here?

I love the Singapore Noodles from Tastes of Asia.
